Solid Film Lubricant, Extreme Environment

Product Description
Slickote Dry Lube X is a heat cured, inorganic bonded, solid film lubricant
coating which meets the requirements of MIL-PRF-81329 (Nato S-1737)
Intended Use
For use in oxygen systems, space vehicles, bearing assemblies and other
equipment where the environments of extreme temperature and nuclear radiation
preclude the use of commercial lubricants and organic solid film lubricants.
To reduce wear and prevent galling and seizure of metals.
Where conventional lubricants are difficult to apply or retain, or where
other lubricants may be easily
contaminated with dirt and dust.
Where temperature ranges are from -185 deg C to 400 deg C
Application Procedure
Metal Preparation: All surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned, degreased, free
of rust, oxides or other surface impurities.
Recommended pretreatments:
Aluminum – Anodize and seal iaw Mil-A-8625, type I, II, or III , Class 1
(non-dyed)
Steel – Abrasive clean (180 to 220 grit aluminum oxide) and phosphate coat
iaw DOD-P-16232 type M or Z, Class 3.
Stainless Steel - Abrasive clean (120 grit aluminum oxide) and Passivate iaw
AMS QQ-P-35.
Titanium – Abrasive Clean (180 to 220 grit aluminum oxide) and alkaline
anodize.
1) Mix well
2) Use as is or reduce with deionized water (10 to 15% max)
3) Apply with spray gun, brushing or dipping: to .025 mm to .035 mm coating
thickness
4) Air dry for 30 minutes
5) Heat cure, at 80 +/-1 degC for 2 Hours /followed by 150 +/-3 degC for 2
Hours.
